(b) A govt is proposing to increase the tax on petrol. Examnine the relevance of price elasticity of demand and income elasticity of demand for this proposal.

part (b) is on your tutorial notes and Mdm Tengara had gone through it last friday.You should have jotted down some points on that.

I will collect your essays on THURSDAY morning, immediately after morning assembly. So please don't slack and finish your econs essay on time.

You still have more than one day to do it if you have not completed, so by this thursday you all should have done the essay.

Hi S60. Zelai here. I have a good news to share with you all. Remember that i had been away from school on these two weeks' Mondays? Yeah I represented Hwa Chong in a public speaking award competition. Result was out on Monday as it was the finals for all JC contestants.

Haha, I won the national championship! Teachers were so pleased also as this championship didn't come easy cos i just had very limited time to prepare for it.Moreover both preliminary and final rounds were different and there was only one week in between.So cheers! :-)

At the same time,they have put up a few selected candidates' videos online, and a part from the conpetition itself, 'the most popular online speaker award' will also be given out on the prize giving ceremony next Tuesday.

Some general information:

1) Each class will provide 3 nominees to attend the Fac Comm interviews. Only one candidate will be selected from the 3 so that each class has one representative on the 2008 Fac Comm. This selected person will also be the CT rep of your class. Of the two remaining candidates, one of them will be selected to be the Assistant CT Rep who will then sit in the SNEC (Student National Education Committee) and represent Artemis in planning for all NE events in school.


2) In addition, special auditions for Dance and Publicity i/cs will be carried out outside the 3 nominees in the event that the 33 nominated students do not want these posts. If you are interested in dance or publicity, please try to get nominated as one of the 3 candidates for your class first. Otherwise, please approach your Fac Heads and apply for these posts via the auditions.


3) Please approach your CT if you are interested to run and let him/her know which post you are interested in. Your CT will decide how the nomination process will be held. Your class will have input in the final 3 candidates. Please use your input wisely. Your CT will also reserve the right to veto anyone who is deemed unsuitable from running. The selection process will be starting from next week onwards.


4) Do look for the Senior Fac Comm and find out from them what being in the Fac Comm entails. Also find out from them what each post's duties are and the job scope.


5) We are looking for people who are:

a) Responsible, mature, committed

b) Academically decent

c) Enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing

d) Talented, creative, daring

Hoho I'm gonna spend some time changing the blog template soon.

But I realised it's mainly coded by php which is based on the server, meaning I cannot edit anything much except for the links section I guess. Uhh, the tagboard, the photolog and everythins is programmed by php.

So I may be changing the whole template. It will be quite a drastic one and, if it ever take places, we may no longer be able to utilize certain functions of the blog we have currently (e.g. blogging directly from the page).

IF u hav chosen tis path, so be it, everyting will be fine as long as u show ur courage and resilience. Theres oso no pt emoing cos its seriously of no practical use, so y not smile more often to brighten u and every1 elses lives.

1 ting u muz remember is tat no matter how dark the road aheads maybe, theres nothing tats worse than regret. Ask urself, ten years down the road, will u regret if u hav not join council?

hey pple!

elections are over, and i haven't officially thanked the whole class for their support. So here is a big thank you to those people who believed in me and kept me going on and on. To tell the truth, there were many times where i doubted myself, my capabilities, my commitment. I stand by you all here today, and I can tell you, the path ahead seems very "misty" and unclear to me, I don't even really know if I can "revolutionize" the school or make a significant change, but i tell you, i will do my best. I don't know if some people who got in should not get in or those who did not get in should get in, but i think that good things doesnt always happen to bad people only. Good things happen to good people too, because i feel that some elects really deserved to get in. To tell the truth, I dont really know if i'll be a good councillor, i dont know what the future holds, but i'll try my best. Sorry that i wrote so much crap here. Lastly i would like to take this chance to thank Tan Wenshi. For always believing in me, right from the start, believing that i had potential when even I doubted myself sometimes. Thanks for always being there for me. And to 08S60, I owe you guys a treat.
